The HSAA Advantage

What do you get when you join HSAA?

Belonging to HSAA means that you are not alone when it comes to facing your employer. You have the support of experienced Labour Relations Officers and the strength of close to 20,000 health care workers.

By joining HSAA you get:

  • a stronger voice
  • better working conditions
  • protection of your rights
  • fair treatment
  • respect

Having a Contract

One of the most important things Health Sciences does for its members is negotiate "collective agreements" or contracts. Once a contract is negotiated, the employer cannot arbitrarily change the terms and conditions of employment. The employer is bound for the duration of the contract.

HSAA administers agreements representing close to 20,000 paramedical technical, professional and general support employees in the public and private health care sectors of Alberta.

The video below is an introduction to HSAA (8 minutes long). It is designed to inform non-union health care employees about the advantages of joining HSAA. The video includes short interviews with HSAA members describing the services Health Sciences provides and the value of belonging to their union. HSAA would like to thank these members for sharing in their own words their experiences with Health Sciences. Click on the graphic below and then click on play to start the video.
