Test Your Safe Driving Smarts

  1. Does a "work site" include a vehicle used for work purposes?

  2. Is it the Employer's responsibility to assess a work site for hazards?

  3. Is it anybody's business if you use your old beater to drive for work?

  4. You travel to numerous food services establishments to enforce public health regulations. Should "working alone" be listed as a hazard?

  5. You provide crisis services to clients in their homes. A late evening shift is being introduced. Is a new hazard assessment required before this work begins?

  6. Do emergency service workers responding to an emergency face additional risks from other drivers?

  7. You can be placed "on call" and can be "called back" to work at times you would normally be sleeping. Should your fatigue be considered a driving hazard?

  8. Is the type of road a hazard that is often overlooked?

  9. Fleet vehicles will be purchased centrally and distributed throughout the province. Will a single hazard assessment be acceptable?

  10. Can asking and answering "what if?" questions help identify potential hazards?

  11. Your employer supplies vehicles for work. Should you refuse to drive an unsafe vehicle that has not been deemed mechanically fit (i.e. brakes need replacing or taillights don't work)?
