HSAA, Pharma Plus, ratify three-year collective agreement
EDMONTON – Members of the Health Sciences Association of Alberta employed by Rexall’s Pharma Plus Pharmacies have overwhelmingly ratified a three-year agreement with their employer.
The new agreement, which expires March 31, 2013, will see close to 30 Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Assistants, who work in Outpatient Pharmacies at Edmonton’s University of Alberta and Royal Alexandra hospitals, receive wage gains and improvements to professional development language.
“Both sides are to be congratulated for their commitment to get a deal done this time,” said Scott Pattison, HSAA Communications Officer. “These health-care professionals undertake a highly specialized type of pharmacy work, dispensing drugs to organ transplant and HIV/AIDS patients. Their contributions to our health-care system are invaluable.
A ratification vote was held Friday at the two Edmonton hospitals.
