EMS Transition Bargaining Update

EDMONTON - The EMS Transition Bargaining for former Calgary Metro EMS, Cochrane EMS, Edmonton Metro EMS, Inter-Facility Transfer (Edmonton) and Parkland EMS did not go ahead with the tentative dates on July 13-15, due to
difficulties with people's availability.  We used those dates to do bargaining preparation.

We did meet with the Employer on July 27 and 28.  We went through most of the articles and letters of understanding, with the intent to deal with the non-monetary items first.  We did sign off a number of the non-monetary articles and will be hearing the Employer's response at our next scheduled meeting on Sept. 15.

We are disappointed with the Employer's response or lack thereof and after the discussion we had at the end of the last day, are hopeful that the atmosphere will be more positive the next time we meet.

The next bargaining dates we have are Sept. 15 and 16 and we are hoping to have a lot more to report following those dates.

We have requested further dates from the Employer and will advise of those once confirmed.
